My colors

And no, it is not because I am suddenly all patriotic. The first time I realized this was my favorite color combination was a day in Africa. I was walking around in 5 inch red platform sandals and a blue Toile de Jouy dress of my own making (it is in storage or I would add a photo here)

Anyway passing a reflecting store window in downtown Nairobi, I thought, oh damn, this is it.

And another reason why:

There is something soulful and beautiful about these colors. The eggs popping up and floating in the sea of red and blue. The red so deep and blue so thoughtful seemingly holding up the eggs whose whites lift to give the red and blue their space to penetrate your thoughts and soul.

Well my heart skipped a beat when I saw this picture.

From the May 2009 Issue of World of Interiors (a favorite filled with inspiration) it is from the 140 year old Biehn Family Collection. Photography Bruno Suet.

Enjoy.
