That happened to me when I watched (re-) 2046 by Wong Kar-wai. It was about 20 minutes into the film that I thought oh this all looks familiar, why did I put this on my queue?
But actually I did not mind at all. The lyrical images and solemn tale of memories which is funny because I lost mine at least I forgot I had seen the film. Of love gained, lost, gained, fear of love, and memories. I enjoyed my second viewing.

One thing I had not noticed my first time around was the lovely diversity of music in the film. One song stood out to me, it was a love's lament, a theme which was played at least twice in the film maybe more. As I waited for the credits to role I saw the name Connie Francis. Connie Francis??? It could not be that song. I rewound to the point and there it was:
And it is beautiful:
A translation not sure how accurate from Learn From Singing Spanish.
I have never been a fan of the whole I will die without your love message but I can understand how you could feel that way for maybe 5 minutes or so until you came to your senses. Anyway I love the song.
