Mr. President

Someone said that they are sick of hearing that every move that President Obama makes is Historic, capital H.

I understand that but I disagree. Everytime I think I am over it all, I mean that I have settled into the joy of having Barack Obama as our President. Something comes up, a statement, an image, an action. That makes me realize, I still get goosebumps over the whole thing.

This past week on his overseas trip was no exception.

Some images that made my heart well up with pride...

So much has been said this week about touching in England. I do assume that people touch in England. I have only been to Heathrow airport so I am no expert but I would guess someone somewhere someday in England, touching happens.

This Royal Guard is not supposed to touch the royals and heads of state he ushers into 10 Downing Street but he and President Obama it seems could not resist a handshake and a smile. I love it, it is a silent: "Much respect, brother."

There was talk that Obama was not ready to be Commander-in-Chief. Leading our troops into and out of battle. (I am hoping for more out than in.) But from the looks of his reception at Camp Freedom in Iraq, the troops have his back.

My two favorite First Ladies. There was a lot of media buzz about a fashion showdown but they both did their thing their way and looked fabulous while doing it. Makes me look even more forward to my 40s.

Enjoy everything.

Lady T,
Great post!!! I share your continuing joy with the Obama Presidency and love the pictures here. I hadn't seen the picture of the President and the 10 Downing Street guard shaking hands...what a wonderful moment.
I commented on the President's reception at Camp Freedom on HuffPo...it was so over the top and he was so joyfully received...It gave lie to the meme that he will never be as popular with our troops as his predecessor was. One soldier called out, "We love you, Sir." and President Obama, not missing a beat, replied "I love you guys and am so grateful for your service to our country"...what a class act.
And the First Lady giving Ms. Sarkozy a Gibson acoustic guitar...these Ladies are sistahs, there was no competition, only a joyful celebration of sisterhood, and what a classy gift, too!
I love you site and your post, T! Recently I've been overwhelmed with doubt about The Yes Child and it's commercial viability and I go to Idia'Dega and see your beautiful work and I am inspired by it all..shine on, Sister!!!
