Not to dis the remake with Pierce Brosnin and Renee Russo, I liked it especially since Ms Russo was so damn sexy in it and this was before the media understood that women can be sexy in their 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s...
The French get it.
I watched this film so many times I decided to watch the DVD with the commentary on, something I rarely do.
One comment made by the filmmakers was, "The French love this film, they get it." Or something to that effect. It made me think of Jerry Lewis. Is The Thomas Crown Affair like Jerry Lewis?
No, it is the impeccable style matched with a great smart story, sexy sexiness and innovative film making.
Did I mention the style? I would wear any and every outfit today, now, now that Ms Dunaway wore in the movie, still current still modern 40 years later.
So the French get it, I get it and I hope you will get a copy of it and watch, it is scrumptious.
